Hill of Banchory Primary School

Hill of Banchory Primary School

The new Hill of Banchory Primary School opened its doors early in 2006 to 325 primary pupils from the Aberdeenshire area.

The school was one of six new schools to be delivered by Robertson as part of Aberdeenshire Council’s PPP programme.

Robertson Eastern was responsible for the innovative build of the new school, while Robertson Capital Projects was the main investor in this PPP project, with Robertson Facilities Management providing hard and soft facilities management services for the 25 year project duration.

The design of the new primary school, built specially to service new housing developments in the outskirts of Banchory, accommodates 12 classrooms, an ICT computer suite, plus a science, arts and crafts room and a music and drama room. In addition, facilities were provided for teaching pre-school children and those with severe and profound difficulties as well as a family-community area. Safe-play and adventure play areas have also been added and proved popular with pupils alongside the floodlit synthetic all-weather multi-purpose pitch.
